Introducing Love Your Home x ArtUltra
LYH x ArtUltra
In the broadest sense of the term, it is art that inspires our designs...
..from music, sculpture, to nature's light and beauty. Artistry is an important word for us. The artistry of our craftspeople across the world. Your artistry in how you bespoke your furniture. The artistry that comes through in the idiosyncratic characters of the objects we all fill our homes with. Artistry as a way of life - finding inspiration everywhere. While it's important to recognise the influence of the past masters, I want to showcase the contemporaries that will impact present and future creatives and leave their mark for years to come.
Love Your Home is a philosophy of discovering the practices, spirit, materials, forms, textures and colours that surround us, and then bringing them into the way we live.
I'm proud to announce our collaboration with East London-based agency ArtUltra who champion the emerging artists of today. We have worked together to curate a selection of artworks that reflect the spirit of Love Your Home.
Embrace (2019) by Gary March
London-based sculptor March, trained in Architectural Stone Carving at City & Guilds of London Art School and creator of Mother Earth at Windsor Castle's Saint George Chapel, shapes his works to challenge viewers' perceptions by echoing and reinterpreting the data and forms found in our environment, with exhibitions spanning London, New York, and Los Angeles.
Unshakeable Love (2023) by Sandra Shashou
Born in Rio de Janeiro and based in London, Shashou is a painter-turned-sculptor whose distinctive porcelain works, crafted from antique and vintage objects, explore themes of resilience, fragility, and love, and have been exhibited internationally.
Tulipe (2006) by Christine Ankaoua
Christine Ankaoua is a French abstract artist known for her large-format, instinctive paintings that balance depth, colour, and movement; her richly layered monochromes, described by critic Yves Michaud as possessing a "visual pulsation," have been exhibited widely in France and internationally.
Various Works by Emily Marbach
Emily Marbach is an American figurative collage artist based in London, whose narrative-driven works explore societal themes through vibrant compositions; her practice, widely exhibited and published internationally, reflects a commitment to storytelling, collaboration, and community engagement.
Come and see them for yourself
View the gallery at our Wandsworth showroom, The Chapel. When I found this space - with its beautiful top-floor window transforming the light, and its history as a studio space and art gallery - I knew it was a place I could create a genuinely unique interiors and artistic experience.
Help yourself to a coffee, tea and a moment. Take in the exhibition, contemporary artwork juxtaposed against 18th century architecture. If one catches your eye, artwork is available for purchase, just ask one of our team for details.
Visit the LYH x ArtUltra Installation
I welcome guests of all sizes, including your four-legged friends. Let your dog stretch their legs on nearby Wandsworth Common, or bring the children along to enjoy the soft play area while you take your time browsing the ArtUltra pieces (and maybe our fabric samples?).
Once you've finished, why not head out for a bite at one of the area's fantastic independent cafés? We're particularly fond of The Toast Rack just around the corner for a fresh juice and a pastry.
